Plate Foam

PORON Plate Foam

Poron is a brand of microcellular polyurethane foam material produced by Rogers Corporation. To enhance the key feel, PORON LE-20, a type of material produced by Rogers Inoac Corporation, a joint venture between Inoac Corporation (Japan) and Rogers Corporation (USA), is commonly used as the material for plate foam and bottom foam. Its excellent cushioning and rebound properties, as well as its microcellular structure, contribute to effective cushioning and sound absorption.

EVA Plate Foam

EVA (Ethylene-vinyl acetate) is a cost-effective cushioning material commonly used in keyboard applications as a material for sandwiched foam.

Gasket

PORON Cuhsioning Gasket

The GASKET structure is one of the most commonly used keyboard design structures. GASKET refers to the cushioning gasket. For keyboards with a GASKET structure, the upper shell and the bottom shell of the keyboard are not in direct contact but are filled with several long, strip-shaped buffer strips. These buffer strips act like springs, isolating the upper shell from the bottom shell. They provide cushioning and shock absorption when the user presses the keys or the shell. Common materials used for GASKET include PORON and soft solid silicone.
